Firearms
Rifles … I’ve shot Thompson/Center exclusively since 2000. They’re really dialed in when it comes to making reliable, great-shooting, great-looking guns. Out of the box, they’re extremely accurate. They’re durable and consistent and have been with me on many, many Road Trips. My gun safe houses a lot of different calibers for all kinds of game, but my caliber of choice is no doubt the .280 Remington, followed by the .300 Win Mag. I just started shooting the T/C Icon, and, as expected, it’s awesome. It’s a flat shooter with very little recoil.

Muzzleloaders … Again, T/C all the way. The Pro Hunter rocks! And so does the 50-cal. Triumph, which I’ve been shooting for about a year. I love this gun’s looks and lines, and I dig its Speed Breech. And the fact that it shoots a 1 ½-inch group doesn’t hurt, either!

Powder … I hardly consider myself a blackpowder expert. I’ve only ever used Pyrodex, but I’ve had great luck with it. I’ve always shot 150 grains.

Bullets … For rifle bullets, I love Nosler Partitions – especially in smaller calibers. I also like Barnes X-Bullets. When it comes to muzzleloader sabots, I shoot nothing but 250-grain T/C Shockwaves.
